Join the History Center for a guided tour of some of Tampa’s most historic sites and neighborhoods. Each 90-minute walk is led by a History Center-trained docent and limited to just 25 people to ensure an intimate and informative experience. Pre-registration is required. Historic Ybor City Tour
Join the History Center for a guided tour of historic Ybor City. This 90-minute, outdoor walking tour is led by a History Center-trained docent and focuses on the founding and development of Ybor City in the late 19th century through the early 20th century. You’ll tour Tampa’s only National Historic Landmark District and learn about the people, social life and work culture of early Ybor.
Stroll past mutual aid societies, the Ybor Cigar Factory and other key landmarks during this outdoor tour, and hear the stories behind one Florida’s oldest and most unique communities. History Center walking tours take place outdoors. Guests will walk approximately one mile and should dress appropriately for Florida’s summertime weather.

Tampa Bay Black History Tour
Led by noted local historian Fred Hearns, you’ll tour “the Harlem of the South,” Tampa’s Central Avenue district. Learn about life in Tampa’s African-American community from the 1890s through the late 1960s.
This outdoor trek begins at the new Robert Saunders Public Library and explores the social, political, musical and religious traditions of Black life in Tampa. History Center walking tours take place outdoors. Guests will walk 5 blocks, one way.
